'Making Sense of Your Money' Course

Did you over spend at Christmas? Interested in taking control of your Finances?

Places are still available on a free 6 week course aiming to help women learn about a subject to close at heart; personal budgeting, saving and getting on top of bills!

Delivered by Advice Northern Ireland Registered Advisors and the General Consumer Council, topics include tracking weekly spending habits, making a budget and sticking to it, credit cards, arrears, knowing your consumer rights, debt management and legal rights. The course is suited to employed and unemployed women and is designed in such a way that each person's personal business remains that way!

This project is part-financed by the European Union through the EU Programme for Peace & Reconciliation (Peace II) managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by TWN

Maria Brady, Project Manager, explained: "It is mainly women who manage the family income and bills. The course will help participants make their own decisions about personal finances and long-term security. The course was a great success last year and women were able to receive help with debt management and arrears issues from the Advice N.I. Registered Advisors".

The course will run on Tuesday's from 13th February at 7.00-9.00pm at Intercomm, 290 Antrim Road, Belfast. A contribution towards travel and childcare/eldercare is also available. Further details are available from Maria Brady at Intercomm on 90352165.
