Intercomm Staff Takes Part in Visit to the Somme
Twenty North Belfast community leaders went on a fact finding in late November, 2006 to visit the battlefields of World War I in France and Belgium, organised by the North Belfast Conflict Transformation Forum. The visit was developed under the Building for the Future: Developing Understandings of the Past programme. The aim is to build the capacity of the group while also developing new community understandings of the past.......click for more
The WEAVE2 Open Day Was a Success!
The Womens Enterprise Project (WEAVE2) held an Open Day on Friday 8th September 2006 at Intercomm. The open day was a great success as 17 women were recruited on the programme. The Open Day gave women an opportunity to meet the teaching team & find out if the course suits their needs. It also gave them a chance to meet with other students.......click for more
North Belfast Unpacks the St Andrew's Agreement Proposals
Following the success of 'The Future Together Summer School', Belfast City Council has funded a North Belfast Initiative to run a number of community workshops as part of a 'Future Together Autumn School'. Organised with the assistance of Intercomm's Developing Leadership Initiative, Droichead an Dóchais, Community Dialogue and other inter-community organisations, the Autumn School has begun discussions with a number of North Belfast and Greater Shankill community activists to plan a series of workshops and discussions that will allow local residents to discuss the St Andrew's Agreement Proposals and what it will mean to them.......click for more
Tribute to Intercomm Co-Founder Billy Mitchell
Billy Mitchell and Liam Maskey founded Intercomm in 1995 with the aim to create dialogue and peace between their respective communities (Protestant/Unionist and Catholics/Nationalist) as well as to counteract the social and economic deprivations suffered by both communities as a result of 30 years of conflict. Billy Mitchell was an ardent supporter for peace and reconciliation and carried out his work as Director of LINC Resource Centre, Belfast.......click for more

International Conflict Prevention Consortium
On May 4-5 2006 , Intercomm hosted the International Conflict Prevention Consortium's fourth conference in its newly refurbished 290 Antrim Road headquarters. The Conference was mainly funded through the Belfast Local Strategy Partnership and participants included representatives from organisations such as International Alert, International Crisis Group and Search for Common Ground as well as Intercomm, the Belfast LSP and Queen's University.............ckick for more
Belfast-Jerusalem Civil Society Partnership
Intercomm and its B-JCSP partner organisation INCORE ( University of Ulster ) organised for an Israeli/Palestinian delegation to visit Northern Ireland 30 March – 5 April 2006 . During their time in Belfast/Northern Ireland, the delegates were given introductions to Intercomm, INCORE and the Belfast-Jerusalem Civil Society Partnership as well as the Northern Ireland conflict/peace process. An important part of the programme was to reflect on, compare and draw conclusions from the situations in Northern Ireland and Israel/Palestine. In addition, the delegates spent extensive time with the Belfast Local Strategy Partnership where they were given a presentation of the BLSP and the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation and the delegates were also given the opportunity to meet with local politicians and given a tour of the Antrim coast...........click for more
Official Opening of Intercomm Headquarters
Intercomm's newly refurbished Headquarters in North Belfast were officially opened on the 6 th of April 2006 .
