Intercomm Enterprises Ltd. was established in 1997 as a non-profit inter-community project. Enterprises
works primarily in the area around the Duncairn ‘peace line’ which forms a physical boundary between Catholic
and Protestant communities. It is an area that has social, economic and infrastructural disadvantages that have been created by thirty-five years of sectarian violence. Using the skills of local builders and tradesmen Enterprises modernises and refurbishes houses otherwise left abandoned and derelict thereby providing affordable, quality homes and employment in an area greatly in need of housing and economic rejuvenation.
Intercomm Enterprises Ltd. brings the two communities of the ‘peace line’ together through economic and social activity and inso doing aims to reduce the level of sectarian violence in the area.
