Home Aid for the Vulnerable and Elderly (HAVE) project aims to provide a safety and security package to households
in north Belfast. This practical package includes fire extinguishers and fire blankets; supply and fitting of low-wattage
floor-level low-energy light bulbs and night lights; jar/bottle easy opener; cleaning of internal and external drains; and
maintenance of smoke alarms.
The project helps to alleviate the fears of the elderly and vulnerable living in the community.

HAVE Beneficiaries
"UnLtd., a foundation for social entrepreneurs and funders for the Home Aid for the Vulnerable and Elderly (HAVE) have said of the project, ‘We are delighted with the scheme…it is a very simple idea, but it has made a world of difference to those who have benefited from it.’ Sinn Fein Councillor David Kennedy was at the project’s launch and is quoted in the North Belfast News (18 December 2004) as having said, ‘This is a great project. A lot of hard work went into this and it is all done on a voluntary basis, which is commendable. Projects like this should be extended in the future as it is a worthwhile scheme which has impact on the community.”
