The WEAVE2 Open Day Was a Success!

The Womens Enterprise Project (WEAVE2) held an Open Day on Friday 8th September 2006 at Intercomm. The open day was a great success as 17 women were recruited on the programme. The Open Day gave women an opportunity to meet the teaching team & find out if the course suits their needs. It also gave them a chance to meet with other students.

The WEAVE2 Programme will teach women how to make & sell fashionable hand-made products. It is a mixture of craft & business skills involving product research, evaluating market trends & colours for the year ahead, budgeting, pricing & business planning, Women are instructed by a team of Business & Craft professionals.

WEAVE2 will run on a Friday morning between 10am -1pm, with family friendly holidays. There is also an option to participate in craft fairs & gain expert advice from buyers.

This project is part-financed by the European Union through the European Union Programme for Peace & Reconciliation (Peace II) under the direction of the Training for Women Network (TWN) and is an initiative of Intercomm, a cross-community organisation based on the Antrim Road.
